Therapy

I provide therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families in Williamsburg/Greenpoint Brooklyn, and across New York City via telehealth. I work with those who might be struggling with relationship patterns they want to understand, questions of identity, self-harm, histories of trauma, difficulties at work or school, anxiety, depression, and the many stresses of today’s complicated world.

My work is rooted in attachment theory and the relational tradition - a tradition that recognizes and honors the deeply embedded nature of our emotional lives in early experiences with significant others, be they parents, peers, institutions, and our society at large. I aim to foster a spirit of curiosity, compassion, and a healthy dose of humor, helping you look inward and draw upon your innate strength and personal wisdom to allow you to live your life more fully and authentically. If you’re wondering if therapy could help you, we can explore that together.

Child and Adolescent Therapy

I work with children and teenagers experiencing anxiety, school stress or school refusal, social difficulties, challenges at home, self-harm, eating disorders, and related emotional or behavioral concerns.

My work with young people begins with helping them feel safe and comfortable with the therapy process. From there, we focus on learning how to understand their feelings and communicate those feelings effectively. Importantly, this leads to an increase in self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and sense of personal responsibility. My approach is developmentally tailored to the age, maturity, and unique temperament of each child. Ongoing collaboration with parents is an integral part of therapy with children and adolescents.

Individual Therapy for Adults

I help people uncover their emotional truths and get in touch with how their early relationships have shaped them. This kind of therapy can be especially helpful if you find yourself feeling disconnected or feeling as though you’re struggling to feel in control of your own life, but not knowing why. It’s often after we've dug up the things that we’ve buried that we can begin to let go.

I often work with men and women with challenges in intimate relationships, friendships, or family relationships; loneliness and isolation; histories of disordered eating; histories of trauma; feelings of anxiety, frustration, or feeling adrift.

Family Therapy

Family is our first environment, and we’re all influenced by the dynamics of our nuclear families. I work with families when one member’s struggles reflect broader dynamics; when communication has broken down; or when trust has been broken and there is a need for meaningful repair. Family therapy often focuses on helping families re-establish connection and healthier patterns of relating.

I work with:

  • Families with children and adolescents

  • Parents and adult children

  • Sibling pairs or groups
